The Circus is Coming to Town

This week the children have been introduced to their new topic. They have worked in small groups to discuss the circuses they made for a homework project.






The children looked at pictures of real circuses to help them create a circus in the classroom. They then watched videos of circus performers and discussed the different acts.


The children have sent an email to Clown Eckie requesting a visit... more details on this will follow soon!!!

In Maths this week the children have been using the terms 'more' and 'less'. They have used different equipment to find one more and one less. Some children challenged themselves by finding 2 more/less and 5 more/less. In English we have been reading and retelling the story 'The Elves and the Shoemaker'  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qniiw8y4H3A . The children have used vocabulary from the story to order pictures of the events. As part of our topic 'The Magic Toymaker' we have looked at playground games that adults would have played when they were children. We learnt how to play the game hopscotch, drawing out the grids using chalk. We used stones as counters. We learnt the actions 'hop' and 'jump'. Practicing hopping and jumping.

Royal Thai Air Force Museum

This week the children were very excited about their trip to the Royal Thai Air Force Museum. We looked at Google Maps to find out how to get there and discussed different forms of transport we could use to get there. On the bus we talked about some of the things we saw on the way. We were met by one of the guides and she told us about some of the older aeroplanes that are kept at the museum. Inside we were shown a film about the Royal Thai Air Force. One of the most exciting parts of the trip was getting climbing inside the helicopters and pretending to fly them. We also got to climb up into the pilots seat on a large aeroplane. A Parade of Vehicles

This week the children have begun their new Topic 'From A to B'. We have shared photos and talked about different forms of transport the children have used. All of the children completed their homework project, which involved them making a vehicle that they could wear. And what great results we had: trains, planes, cars, a tuk-tuk and a tank! The children enjoyed listening to one another talk about their vehicles. They asked questions such as: Who made it? Why did you choose to make it? What did you use to make it?
